Autumn is on it’s way (yay!) and it’s set to be a veritable feast of rich fabrics, intricate details and colour combinations. Here are the six hottest trends to invest in now.
Frill Seekers
Hailing from Victorian silhouettes, frills are adorning all manner of pieces this season. Take cues from Pantone with baby blues and pinks, or opt for gothic tones and subtle frill for a less feminine approach.
Graphic Granny
With an exponential popularity in granny chic of late, the designers are fully embracing the geriatric aesthetic eclectic layering, mismatched prints, greying hair and those all-important headscarves. Head over to Granny’s house for some inspiration.
Pink and Yellow
It’s rare to see a number of designers play around with a colour combination, however this autumn’s definitive pairing was pink and yellow. Think mustards with fuchsia pinks, and pops of bubblegum with bright marigold to really warm those colder months.
Puffa Princess
Talking of unexpected pairings this autumn, the 90s puffa is back and the runways were teaming with inflated looks, most notably teamed with eveningwear and feminine elements. Invest in an oversized puffa this season, ensuring your palette is rich- heels are a must.
The Asymmetric Drape
Fur stoles were everywhere last fall, and although they’re returning, this season has a different approach. Think bigger and longer pieces, placed across the body for a bigger impact.
Velvet Underground
Arguably the biggest trend of the season, that soft-to-touch fabric is making it’s return and I couldn’t be more excited. From eveningwear to outerwear, dress head-to-toe for a luxe feel or place your summer velvet slip over a knitted roll neck for a new season approach to layering.
