From the catwalks at men’s fashion week, to celebrities and models alike, here are seven hair trends to try out this autumn.
Conjuring up images of old school rock, beyond shoulder lengths were big on the SS17 catwalks. Maybe it’s time to grow out that top knot?
A polished look with not a hair out of place, the 50s slicked back style has made a triumphant return, sported by the likes of model Lucky Blue Smith.
If you have naturally wavy hair, you can rejoice; textured curls are in and the more volume the better. For light waves, add a matte mouse for added height or if your hair is tightly curled, a pomade defines your look.
Love the idea of a fresh start? Do a Zayn and shave it all off. The grunge skinhead look will never fall out of favour and it’s a fast-track to a seriously cool aesthetic.
‘Curtains’ were sported by everyone from Johnny Depp to Leonardo DiCaprio in the 90s and their revival seems imminent if the catwalks are anything to go by.
Previously seen as the ‘growing out’ phase, mid-length hair is in this season with celebs like Dougie Poynter embracing their chin-length tresses. If you have particularly straight hair, achieve subtle waves with a spritz of sea salt spray.
Focus on Fringes
Heavily featured on the summer catwalks from Dior to Coach, blow-dried fringes give the ultimate nod to 90s hair. Go for a resting-on-your-eyelashes look for carefree feels, or get it bluntly cut above the brows for a grunge edge.
