Saturday played host to Dreamland’s Fiesta to celebrate Mexico’s Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Set in the Hall, an indoor section of the theme park, UV sugar skulls made way for authentic street food and a tequila bar, and a mariachi band transported you to the streets of South America.
When we arrived, we obviously went straight over to check the food out… the choices were very reasonably priced and the food was super tasty. I got a pulled pork taco, which was slathered with avocado and topped with pomegranate seeds. I couldn’t resist a churro or three either, especially as these were covered in chocolate and piled with fruit.
Bellies full and Sols in hand, we sauntered over the stage where we danced to the DJ and got a second helping of soulful Mariachi magic before The Cuban Brothers tore the house down.
All in all it was a fabulous experience and I would totally recommend if you’re looking for a mix of food and music in an intimate setting.
One of the things I love most about Dreamland is it’s shabby chic setting (as much as I hate that phrase, it’s the most affectionate phrase I can use for it!) There’s always so much cool graffiti around so I couldn’t help but get a couple of cheeky outfit pics while I was there too.
