IDC what anyone says, stay-cays are the best! No airport checks, no worrying whether your make up bag has anything over 100ml, no squeezing everything in your case. I’m off to Scotland this week and wanted to do a beauty post for a change- here are my stay-cay essentials I swear by and the products that are perfect for a dose of relaxation on your trip.
What’s in My Bag
There might not be a baggage allowance, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to go cray with packing all my beauty products! I often over pack but this time I’m being conservative about my beauty regime. My normal moisturisers/cleansers are below, along with pore strips, a space mask, a nourish building hair mask and my new obsession- a Korean beauty mask. Nothing I buy breaks the bank so if you’re looking for some pick-me-ups come holiday time, read on!
My Skincare Dailies
Before I delve into my daily skincare must-haves, I have to say when people are like, “What kind of skin type are you?”I honestly don’t know. It can be dry in the summer and the winter, it can feel greasy other days… and it’s very sensitive! So combination sensitive, if that’s a thang? Micellar water has been my go-to for ages, but I’ve recently been experimenting with variations on the product to see how it would react with my skin. I have to say I’ve been so bad over the years and I’ve kind of just left my skin alone- when I had spotty teenage skin I would always fork out for the Clean and Clear products which made me break out more so I kind of gave up until about a year or two ago. Micellar water is an actual dream and my fave right now is Garnier’s oil-infused cleanser. This one is infused with argania spinosa kernel oil or argan oil and I find it perfect for hydrating my skin (make sure you shake up the bottle, the oil separates at the top!). I use this when I can’t be bothered to melt my coconut oil, and it’s also perfect for travelling. The oil really breaks down waterproof make up, especially that pesky mascara and I couldn’t recommend it more.
After using the micellar water I always reach for my Neutrogena Visibly Clear Moisturiser– it’s perfect for keeping my skin feeling hydrated and the best part? it makes my skin feel super soft. When I’m feeling extra bougie I reach for my Argan Oil Night Repair Serum too, I’m a big fan of the applicator- I think they sell these in some Poundland stores?!
My Favourite Masks
Is it really a stay-cay if you didn’t bring a face mask? I really rate Superdrug’s own brand, and they don’t test on animals which is fab! I’m a repeat user of their de-stressing mud mask for combination skin, and their nose pore strips. I’m not overly keen on the fragrant masks, so this one is simple and effective. Can I also attempt to describe how satisfying it is to peel off the nose strips? I CANT. I’ve found them a little hit and miss but for £1.29 they’re definitely a budget option.
And Something a little Different.. Space Masks
When the wonderful people at Space Masks sent me a sample to try, I was so excited! Designed to be worn just before bed, you pop the eye mask on and relax. A small amount of iron filings in the mask react with the oxygen in the air to heat the mask, owing to the ultimate relaxing experience, combined with jasmine for fragrance without skin irritation. I’m so excited to enjoy the 15 minute pamper session while I’m away!
For me the best nose strips are the ones from BiorΓ© π hope you’re having a fabulous time in Scotland x

yes I’ve been looking for some really good ones! Superdrug just aren’t cutting it for me anymore!
I definitely need to take more stay-cations and all of your photos from Scotland just make me want to more! I love the sound of the Space Masks – I’m definitely going to be having a look into those. I also really like the look of the oil-free moisturiser. I’ve got a horrendously oily T-zone, so anything to keep me moisturised whilst not adding to my oiliness is perfect!

I always have to keep my skin hydrated and moisturized since my skin is quite dry. And that oil free moisturiser sounds just perfect for that! The spacemask sounds amazing as well! Thanks for sharing π
